In September 2023, the non-profit association Ignatius Scholen in Beweging (ISB) will open a new secondary school in the heart of Molenbeek. The buildings of a former brewery in the Pierre Van Humbeekstraat, within walking distance of the West Station, will by then have been transformed into a modern, Dutch-speaking domain school, the Egied Van Broeckhovenschool (Egied). The secondary education on offer will consist of ASO, BSO and TSO courses in the domain ‘Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths’ (STEM) and the care domain ‘Society and Welfare’. This will not be a classical Jesuit college such as the Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege and the Jan-van-Ruusbroeckollege, which also fall under the umbrella of ISB. In Egied, pupils can opt for through-flow courses or for labour market-oriented courses.
